Matthew Elliott started Crescent Moon Creative, LLC (CMC) in October 2020 with the hope to enrich people’s lives with the magic of flowers and the wisdom of tarot.
Tarot readings and floral arrangements are both used to share the stories that are closest to our hearts.
Floral arrangements convey many different stories and messages. Each bloom and each arrangement sharing your story with the magic of flowers.
Similarly, reading the tarot is a way to get in touch with the stories that reside within our subconscious. Each tarot reading tells a unique story that works to enlighten and guide the Seeker. Tarot readings are always done with the Seeker’s best interest at heart.
Every story is unique, special, important and worthy of recognition. CMC promises to tell your story with care and expertise. Whether it is a story being told through beautiful flowers or expressed through the cards, CMC will honor each customer with expertise, kindness and care.
Matthew began working with flowers at a local florist in Lexington, KY when he was 14. After working there a couple of years, Charlotte Royalty took Matthew under her wing and trained him with the fundamentals of floral design. The lessons that Matthew learned from Charlotte opened up the world of flowers to him and he continues to use what he learned from her everyday.
After graduating from the University of Kentucky, with a degree in Arts Administration, Matthew moved to New York City in 2013. He first worked at Langdon’s Tribeca Florist as a designer before transitioning to Gramercy Park Flowers, where he would remain before moving home to Lexington, KY.
While working at Gramercy Park Flowers, Matthew worked at their DUMBO design studio for a couple of years and participated in DUMBO’s art festival with unique and artistic floral designs for the neighborhood. Later Matthew moved to Gramercy Park’s design boutique located inside the Plaza Hotel. Under the direction of Tom Sakas, owner of Gramercy Park Flowers, Matthew designed many of the grand floral displays for the Plaza Hotel entrance, in addition to designing for many of the Plaza’s residents and events.
In May 2015, Matthew won first place for Gramercy Park Flowers at the New York Flower Show Gala (hosted by the Horticultural Society of New York) with his original floral tablescape design.
After returning to Lexington, KY in 2017, Matthew returned to the local Lexington florist as manager and wedding/event lead until 2020 before starting CMC. He now resides in Lexington, KY and serves the community with luxury flowers and tarot divination.
Matthew’s story with tarot reading is very similar to the path he took with floral design. Matthew first observed his mother reading tarot for friends and family as a young teen. This greatly inspired him and he began to study with her before he began his own journey with the tarot in his early 20’s.
Tarot became a professional trade when Matthew moved to NYC in 2013. In NYC, he would regularly read for individual clients, parties and events throughout the city. Matthew continues to read tarot professionally from his home in Lexington, KY and he can read for people all over the world, with online readings.
